Love The Skin You Are In

Skin is the most important and largest organ of our body. Skin acts as an obstruction between the internal tissues and the environment. it is the outer covering of the human body and performs functions like – protection from external environment, heat regulation, water resistance, etc.

In order to keep this vital organ healthy, and for its proper functioning, skin care is essential. We all follow a skincare routine which is either passed down to us from our grand mothers and mothers or something that our beautician suggested.

A proper skincare regime includes ‘cleansing, toning, and moisturizing’, the famous CTM routine. It is a three step process and should be followed twice daily. The first step in the process is:

  • Cleansing: this is the quite commonly followed by everybody. You must begin by removing all the dust, dirt and oil that may have collected on the face along with the make up. Use a mild and natural cleanser which is suitable for your skin type. For effective CTM, we recommend Double Cleansing which means you clean your face with a Cleansing Milk or Cream after Face Wash. While we recommend it for all of you, this step is absolutely unavoidable for women who use makeup or have oily skin since this is the only way to gently open the pores and flush out the dirt-oil mix. Else, the entire exercise will be futile.

  • Toning: toning is the step people usually miss out on. Toning helps in various ways,to begin with it helps remove traces of cleanser that may be left behind after the cleansing routine.Toners also helps to close open pores & tighten them.It further helps remove dead skin cells & leave your skin hydrated and leave it supple.In a nutshell Toning helps restore the ph balance & nutrients to your skin.You can choose to dab a cotton swab or spray directly to your face.   • Moisturizing:  now that you have done the hard work, you would want to keep it forever, wouldn’t you? In order to do that, you need to moisturize your skin. Cleansing and toning leave the skin bare and the pores open, and so, especially in the drier months, skin tends to lose moisture. Moisturizing further helps in hydrating your skin and restoring the necessary nutrients to it. Choose your moisturizer according to your skin type and also as per the prevalent weather.

Apart from the regular CTM routine, you should also exfoliate your skin at least once a week. Using face scrub, sloughs away dead cells and give a glow to dead and lifeless looking complexion. Exfoliation should be followed by applying a face pack which will make your skin tight and close the pores which open up after scrubbing. This exercise should be practiced at least once every week.
